The East Troy Electric Railroad, Wisconsin’s last original electric railroad line, is celebrating its 107th year of operation. The railroad runs from East Troy to Mukwonago with regular weekend service through Nov. 2. Friday trains will run through Aug. 29
A variety of antique trolleys and interurban coaches that once whisked passengers from Milwaukee to surrounding towns will be featured during Milwaukee Day Sept. 20.
Fares are $12.50 for adults, $10.50 for seniors and $8 for youth 3-11. Children younger than 3 ride for free.
Dinner & Pizza TrainsThe railroad returns its award-winning dinner train aboard the only interurban electric railroad car in North America. The two-hour excursion offers a gourmet four-course meal and a full cash bar overlooking Phantom Lake on Sept. 13, Sept. 27, Oct. 11, Oct. 18 and Oct. 25.
This year the railroad will expand its pizza train schedule allowing more rail fans the opportunity to dine aboard former coaches of the Chicago South Shore & South Bend Railroad. The family-friendly pizza train will ride the rails Aug. 9, Aug. 23 and Oct. 4.
