Holiday Help program wraps second successful year

The Holiday Help Program of East Troy recently wrapped up its second year of combined community giving.

In 2015, Holiday Help of East Troy was able to serve 83 families and 194 children.

"I would personally like to thank all of the volunteers from our partner organizations who helped to make this program a success and making (gift pick up day) a day that these families will not soon forget," said East Troy Family and Community Resource Center coordinator Marolyn Komperud, who has taken the reins of the initiative. "Thank you as well to all of our community members who found it in their hearts to take a tag from one of our trees or drop a gift in a barrel or make a donation of food to our Food Pantry to help those who are less fortunate experience a brighter Christmas season."

Komperud said the program's new organizational structure, which features the collaboration of various community organizations and businesses, made it easier than ever to take advantage of holiday giving opportunities.
