St. Patrick's Day Food & Drink Guide
Here's our guide to all of the green food and drinks you can get in East Troy for St. Patrick's Day
2894 on Main's
Celebrate with 2894 on Main's Reuben: house-cured Rohrganics corned beef, with Swiss cheese, 1000 island, and sauerkraut on house-made marble rye.
East Troy's cafe, located on the northwest corner of the East Troy Village Square, features a farm-to-fork menu and uses locally roasted beans with local, organic milk.
Kitchen hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Cafe hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Visit 2894onMain.com for details.
The Elegant Farmer's Shamrock Cookies
The Elegant Farmer, 1545 Main St. Mukwonago, is featuring Shamrock Cookies for St. Patrick's Day.
The Elegant Farmer is also serving up homemade, fresh-picked and delicious offerings in its Farm Kitchen Bakery, Deli & Market. Piled high with tender corned beef, its featuring its annual Rueben Sandwich sale March 17-21. The classic Corned Beef Rueben is dished up on its incredible Farm Kitchen Bakery’s Sauerkraut Rye Bread for just $5.99 (reg. $9.99).
The business is noted by “Gourmet Magazine,” “The Wall Street Journal,” “Food Network” and “Milwaukee Magazine” as having “the best pie in America.” The award-winning Apple Pie Baked in a Paper Bag has been the Elegant Farmer’s signature item for decades, baking over a quarter of a million pies each year.
Since they couldn’t celebrate in the way we had planned last year, The Hive Taproom, W2463 County Rd ES, is determined to make the most of it this year. The Hive will celebrate with a weekend packed full of events, including two nights of live music, two new mead releases and a Members Night.
Tonight, The Hive will be open from 4 to 9 p.m. for some St. Patrick's Day shenanigans complete with live music from Scott Huffman Duo and some tasty beverage and food specials.
Bee there as they release a brand new sour mead, Rhizo-Sour. It’s the perfect addition to its whiskey-sour-inspired specialty mead, made especially and only for St. Paddy’s Day.
The Hive is also introducing a brand new pinza (flatbread with a gluten-friendly crust). While a Beer Brat Pinza isn’t exactly Irish, it sure is delicious. And if you’re still looking for more, The Hive is also offering $2 off cans of Mull It Over this Wednesday only. As a bonus, you can still get $5 off a 4-pack, too.
Have a wee nip or two at East Troy House, Wisconsin's oldest operating inn & tavern, 2093 Division St., on the East Troy Village Square. The kitchen will be serving up Tender Corned Beef, cabbage, potatoes and yummy rye bread (along with its regular menu) from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. today. The bar will be open tonight featuring pool, darts or pinball in the game room.
