LD's BBQ, located at Troy BP, will host the second annual Avie-Fest, a celebration of community and life in memory of Avielle Richman, on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 1 to 8 p.m.

The 6-year-old girl with a spitfire personality and love of laughter was among the 20 children and six educators killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., on Dec. 14, 2012. Proceeds will benefit the Avielle Foundation, which works to prevent violence through brain health research and community development. For more information, visit www.aviellefoundation.org.

The event will feature a live auction, live music by Hard Water Blues, LD's famous ribs, a rib eating contest and more.

Troy BP is donating 100 gallons of gas for the auction, as well as donating a percentage of every gallon sold on Saturday.
