Wisconsin Cheesemakers' and Wine Train

The Elegant Farmer will host its 6th annual Wisconsin Cheesemakers & Wine Tasting Train from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 18.  Ride the rails on the Cheesemakers Train in air-conditioned comfort on board the beautifully restored East Troy Electric Railroad’s Dinner Car featuring an Art Deco vintage interior and elegant white tablecloth tables. The two-hour round trip departs and returns to The Elegant Farmer Depot, 1545 Main Street, County Roads ES & J, Mukwonago. Tickets are $39 and can be purchased online.

This year’s cheesemakers includes Cheesemaker Jim Schwartz from Specialty Cheese Company. The company makes more than 35 varieties of ethnic cheeses including those from the traditions of Hispanic, Indian, Greek, Middle Eastern and East Europe heritage; John Slawinski from Milwaukee’s only urban cheese factory, Clock Shadow Creamery showcasing its tasty Chevre, fresh cheese curds, cheddars and quark cheeses. Adding to this flavorful tasting event will be Master Cheesemaker Adam Buholzer from Klondike Cheese Company bringing the company's delicious array of flavored feta, feta cheese dip, brick, muenster and Havarti cheeses.Parking is free and ample at The Elegant Farmer. Prior to boarding, visit the Elegant Farmer Market to enjoy the Wisconsin Blue Ribbon Cheese Fest sampling dozens of Wisconsin’s finest cheeses.
