The East Troy Area Chamber of Commerce will host its Annual Fall Membership Luncheon from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at Roma's Ristorante, N8416 County Road ES, East Troy. Bill Marklein will be presenting on Emotional Intelligence and how it is still the biggest variable to success in and outside of the workplace. Learn how Emotional Intelligence works and how it will impact your career and more importantly your personal and professional relationships. Emotional Intelligence: Awareness, Adaptability & Empathy for 21st Century Leadership The ability to express and control our own emotions is important, but so is our ability to understand, interpret and respond to the emotions of others. Imagine a world where you could understand when a friend was feeling sad or when a co-worker was angry. Psychologists refer to this ability as emotional intelligence, and some experts even suggest that it can be more important than IQ. Our guest speaker, Bill Marklein, has his Master's Degree in Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with his primary research on Emotional Intelligence.
