Downtown Open House

Various historic, architectural and culturally significant sites will be participating in a statewide Downtown Open House event from 10 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 13. The local event, hosted by Connect Communities, will feature tours of spaces not usually open to the public like the East Troy Village Square bandstand.
Smart Lab at East Troy High School
Village Square Park featuring remote broadcast from WFAQ-LP from noon to 4 p.m.
Kubicki Museum & Heritage Center
Individuals who get their passport stamped at designated locations will get a discounted trolley ride.
This is East Troy and Elkhorn’s second year participating in a statewide event, which has nearly doubled in size, featuring 150 unique venues in more than 20 communities for 2017. These venues, many of which are typically closed to the public, will be open free of charge for one day only from 9 am to 4 pm in Elkhorn and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in East Troy on Saturday, May 13.
This year, the event coincides both with National History Month and Wisconsin’s Creative Economy Week, highlighting the diverse historic and creative heritage in the state. Around Wisconsin, visitors can enjoy guided tours, historical reenactments, educational seminars, musical acts and much more. Featured activities in East Troy will include walking tours and live music, with special offers from East Troy Shell Station, Historical Society, Troy Liquor, The Shave Shop and Ivan’s on the Square.
