Artist Bios:
Rachel Christopoulos.painter Rachel's Shoppe
Rachel Christopoulos describes herself as an artist, coffee addict, and a dreamer (though she's not the only one). As a Wisconsin native living on the outskirts of Milwaukee, Rachel's art is constantly being inspired by the energy of the big city. Though she paints a variety of subjects, her artwork focuses on blending the familiar with new ideas and bright colors to create an individualistic play on everyday life. With a passion for painting and a love for encouraging other emerging artists, Rachel uses her talent with a brush to infuse lives with inspiration & lighthearted artwork.
Jessie Schroeder.potter Pottery by Jessie at The Green Rabbit
My name is Jessie, and simply stated, I am blessed to be a potter who truly has a passion for making handmade ceramics that people can use and enjoy daily. I create decorative and functional handmade pottery from high-fire white stoneware that is durable and lasting. I design my pieces with the hope of being someone's favorite taco night serving dish....or the perfect tray for mom's famous grilled proscuitto wrapped asparagus. YUM! My pieces are meant to bring joy!
A combination of hand-building and wheel thrown pieces form the base of my collection. I feel that my work has a rustic, unique movement and quality that begs to be held.
I fire in an electric kiln to cone 6, with lead-free glazes and use multiple application techniques to achieve my signature style. Pieces are microwave, dishwasher and oven safe.
Arielle Riethmiller.weaver arieth weaving co
Meet the weaver behind the loom: Hi, I’m [Ari]elle, the fiber artist behind arieth weaving co. I’m a full-time teacher with a Masters Degree in literacy and a part-time weaver. I began my weaving journey in January 2018 when one of my sister-in-law’s asked me if I had a New Years Resolution. At first I said no, but, as I gave her question more thought, I realized there was something that I had been wanting to learn how to do - weave. I fell in love with weaving instantly and have enjoyed making each piece of fiber art using my handmade looms that my husband lovingly built for me (neat fact: the big loom pictured below is built out of cherry wood milled by my husband’s grandfather).
I do take custom orders as well so feel free to advertise that w/my email and/or stopping by The Hive Art show to chat with me.
Sarah Manke.designer dither.studio
Sarah Manke, co-founder of Dither Studio, is an event planner at the Milwaukee Public Museum by day and a graphic designer and photographer by night. She specializes in branding, design, and screen printing. A native of East Troy, her awe-inspiring T-shirt designs pay homage to her hometown, encouraging locals to love where they live. Manke also serves as the Marketing Coordinator for the East Troy Area Chamber of Commerce and is a cake maker extraordinaire. #etforever
