Take in the changing leaves on a relaxing trip aboard the East Troy Electric Railroad, Wisconsin’s last original electric railroad.
The railroad runs from the East Troy Depot to Indianhead Park in Mukwonago – with a stop at the Elegant Farmer – every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through the end of October.
On Saturdays and Sundays trains depart eastbound from the East Troy Depot at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., westbound from Indianhead Park in Mukwonago at 10:40 a.m., 11:40 a.m., 12:40 p.m., 1:40 p.m., 2:40 p.m. (last round trip) and 3:40 p.m. and westbound from The Elegant Farmer at 11 a.m., noon, 1, 2 (last round trip) and 3 p.m. Friday trains depart East Troy at 10 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m.
Fares are $12.50 for adults, $10.50 for seniors and $8 for youth 3-14. Children 2 and younger ride for free.
Dinner Trains: Experience the romance of dining aboard one of the East Troy Electric Railroad’s award-winning dinner trains.
The two-hour excursion offers a gourmet four-course meal, a full cash bar, and a stop at Phantom Lake at sunset. Trains depart on Sept. 15, Sept. 29, Oct. 6, Oct. 20 and Oct. 27. Or consider joining the railroad for the second beer tasting train of the season on Sept. 8.
Special Events: The railroad’s 2018 Night Photo Shoot will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8 – and participants will be able to enter their photos in a contest to appear in the railroad’s 2019 calendars. Milwaukee Day is Sept 22, featuring a variety of antique trolleys and interurban coaches that once whisked passengers from major cities to surrounding towns and nearby summer retreats.
