Your Guide to the Perfect Memorial Day Weekend in East Troy

Memorial Day Weekend is here and we have plenty of East Troy fun to help mark the unofficial start to summer. (A good time summer kick off seems in order, don't you think?)

Join us for East Troy's Corn & Brat Roast, Community-wide Rummage and Brewfest.
 

East Troy Corn & Brat Roast Spans Friday-Sunday

The East Troy Area Chamber of Commerce’s 44th annual Corn & Brat Roast will return on Memorial Day weekend, May 28-30, at East Troy Village Square Park, 2881 Main St.

The event, featuring roasted sweet corn, Hometown Sausage Kitchen brats, hot dogs, burgers, soda and beer, as well as live entertainment, will be held Friday from 4:30 to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

American Legion Loomis-Martin Post 188 & East Troy VFW Post 7501 will present a Memorial Day Observance at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 31.

Your health and safety are clearly the most important and we are planning accordingly as event options are being evaluated and enhanced health & safety practices are being put in place.

The following entertainment lineup will take place rain or shine, with no cover charge:

 

Friday, May 28

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: East Troy Community-wide Rummage Sales

5 to 8 p.m.: Andy Carroll & The People He Owes $ To

 

Saturday, May 29

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: East Troy Community-wide Rummage Sales

11 to noon: Eric Grossmeyer of AntiqueWisconsin.com will be on the village square for an “Antique Roadshow”-style antique appraisal event. Bring up to three items for a free appraisal.

noon to 3 p.m.: Spare Change Band

3:30 to 6:30 p.m.: Hoi Polloi

 

Sunday, May 30

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: East Troy Community-wide Rummage Sales

11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: Paulie & The Poor Boys

3 to 6 p.m.: DJ JJJ

3-6 p.m.: East Troy's Sixth Annual Brewfest

The East Troy Area Chamber of Commerce will host its 29th annual East Troy Community-wide Rummage Sale on Friday, May 28, Saturday, May 29 and Sunday, May 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

East Troy Brewfest

East Troy's sixth annual Brewfest will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 30 at East Troy Village Square Park, 2881 Main St., featuring unlimited samples of over 55 craft beers from area breweries, including area favorites East Troy Brewery , The Hive TaproomWestallion Brewing CompanyLow Daily and Lakefront Brewery.

The event will be part of the Chamber’s 44th annual Memorial Day weekend Corn & Brat Roast May 28-20, featuring roasted sweet corn, brats, hot dogs, burgers, soda and beer, as well as live entertainment. The weekend events will also include the Chamber's 29th annual East Troy Community-wide Rummage Sale.

General admission tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the door and will include: wristband for one entry to restricted access tasting area, 3 oz. tasting samples and one souvenir tasting glass. 

*Must be 21 years of age or older with valid ID to participate

Designated driver tickets are $8, which includes a food voucher and 3 beverage tickets for water and soda.

Event will be held rain or shine.

The East Troy Area Chamber of Commerce's four-day 44th Annual Corn & Brat Roast is Memorial Day Weekend, May 28-30.

We still need volunteers to sign up for the following shifts:

Saturday, May 29: 
1:30 to 4:30 p.m. (food, beverages)
4:30 to 7:30 p.m. (food)

Sunday, May 30: 
10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: (grill)
1:30 to 4:30 p.m. (food, beverages)
4:30 to 7:30 p.m. (food, beverages).

This is the Chamber's biggest event of the year and a great chance to get your staff, family and friends together, work a shift and have some fun. Don't forget to wear apparel to promote your business or organization. To volunteer, email vanessa@easttroy.org to reserve your spot.

Memorial Day Observance

American Legion Loomis-Martin Post 188 & East Troy VFW Post 7501 will present a Memorial Day Observance at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 31 at East Troy Village Square Park. For more information, call (262) 470-4694.

 

Booth Lake Opens

Take a trip to Booth Lake Memorial Park, N8465 Townline Road on opening day, Saturday, May 29 from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. The beach will remain open through Labor Day. For use exclusively by residents and property owners of the Village of East Troy, Town of East Troy and Town of Troy.

Kick off Summer
with a Sweet Treat

J. Lauber's Ice Cream Parlor, 2010 Church St., a summertime staple in East Troy, is now open. Check out the menu here: https://www.jlaubers.com/ 

Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 4 to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

 

Pizza on the Farm

Grassway Organics, W2716 Friemoth Road, will host Pizza on the Farm on Saturday, May 29 from noon to 8 p.m. featuring live music by John Stano. 

Wood fired pizza service starts at noon. All the meat and cheese is produced from Grassway Organics Farm and the veggies are from a local CSA. Enjoy hand crafted crusts including gluten free options. Bring your own chair. 

There are no reservations needed but please pack a chair or blanket as picnic table seating is limited.

Ride the Rails

The East Troy Electric Railroad continues it 2021 season with trains running every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Friday trains depart on the hour from the East Troy Depot, 2002 Church St., at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m., Saturday trains run on the hour from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Sunday trains are at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.

The East Troy Electric Railroad operates the last 7 miles of original track from The Milwaukee Electric Railway & Light Company interurban system, which had 200 miles of track in and around Milwaukee.

Prices for the round-trip rides are $9.50 for kids, $15 for adults, and $12.50 for seniors. One round trip takes approximately 90-minutes. Trains stop at the Elegant Farmer in Mukwonago, which is a popular spot for farm-fresh produce, cheese, and the famous Apple Pie Baked in a Paper Bag. The trains are heated and there are restrooms inside the East Troy Depot.

The Hive Hosts
Summer Kickoff Party

The Hive Taproom, W2463 County Rd ES, will host its Kickoff to Summer party on Saturday, May 29, complete with its first Brewery Tours and Bee Experience Tours, an outdoor bar with craft cocktails on tap from 5 to 10 p.m., and River Valley Rangers on its outdoor stage from 6 to 9 p.m.
