Walworth County Fair adds monster trucks, bull riding

Two new grandstand shows will make their debut at the 2015 Walworth County Fair, scheduled for Sept. 2-7.

On Wednesday, Sept. 2, the fair will kick off with Rice Bull Riding in the grandstands at 7 p.m.

The action packed top ranked Pro Bull Riding performance will also feature the best comedy with its specialty acts.

Friday’s grandstand show will bring to life an All Star Monster Truck event beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Three of the nation’s best All Star Monster Trucks will battle it out in a tailgate smashing wheelie competition, side by side racing, and a no rules, no holds barred freestyle throw down.

Twenty-plus year veteran driver Andy Hoffman in War Wagon takes on Aaron Cain in Quad Chaos, the world’s largest ATV monster truck crossover, and Earth Mover, the world’s only monster dump truck.

The legendary Charlie Daniels Band will perform on Saturday, Sept. 5.

Daniels is best known for his platinum single “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.”

The rest of the CDB catalog with songs like “In America,” “Uneasy Rider,” “The South’s Gonna Do It” and “Long Haired Country Boy” spans 50 years of record making and represents more than $20 million in sales.

Rock legends Cheap Trick will take the grandstand stage on Sunday, Sept. 6.

Blending elements of pop, punk and even metal, the supergroup has released timeless classics like “I Want You to Want Me,” “Surrender,” and “The Flame.”

The band has been performing live since the ‘70s with more than 5,000 performances, 20 million records sold, 29 movie soundtracks and 40 gold and platinum recording awards.

Both performances begin at 7:30 p.m.

Advance tickets for VIP and reserve bleacher seats are currently on sale. Tickets are $150 for the Special VIP Package, $40 on the track or $20 for reserve bleacher seats.

Tickets may be purchased at the fair office or on the fair’s website, www.walworthcountyfair.com.

General grandstand seating is free with fair ticket purchase.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday admission prices are $7 (7 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and $10 (2 p.m. to close) for adults, $5 for seniors (ages 62 and older) and $4 for children (ages 6-12). Weekend admission is $10 for adults and $4 for children. Admission for Monday is $7 for adults and seniors and $4 for children.
